Bow Wow Brunch
I found some recipes for dogs in The Bark Magazine, so I thought I would give them a try with Tahoe since he is almost the most finicky dog on the planet. A couple of weeks ago I watched him pick broccoli out of ground beef, and walk away... Leaving the meat! He really likes broccoli for some reason. Anyway, I try to make him things he will like 'cause it makes me sad that he doesn't experience the same joy that most dogs have when it comes to food. The vet told me there is nothing wrong... He said some dogs live to eat and some dogs eat to survive. My dog is definitely on the survival side... Or he is just waiting around because he knows if he looks pathetic enough I will cook him something!
So I bought all these ingredients... Had to search for safflower oil, and research mangos, (first time mango peeler. I know. I've lived a sheltered life) all costing me over 10 bucks... Got this big bowl because I knew I would have enough to feed Tahoe for 3 or 4 days! The 1st night he ate a bowl full, and I was very happy. The next night he gave me crap about the leftovers and barely even sniffed it.
I met my friend Natalia at the park the next day and brought it along to share thinking Tahoe might eat it if he sees his friend Bella enjoying it. It worked for a split second. Here he is gently licking the top of it, pretending to eat... Notice Bella's is almost entirely gulped. But then he walked away...

1972
Sometime when I was a baby this was happening... This made me laugh really hard this afternoon! I can't believe how good this video is... like it was almost yesterday! Don't ask me HOW I got here... One thing always leads to another on the internet, and I always end up wasting SO much time! I was suppossed to go to the gym, but instead I got nostalgic...

Slumdog, Taken, and Compassion International
I finally saw Slumdog Millionaire last week along with the movie Taken. They were both really good, especiallly Slumdog Millionaire! Those kids are so cute! They both had good endings, which for me is a prerequisite to be classified as good, because I've learned I don't need to pay for depression! But they were both still very sad because there was so much truth to them concerning what goes on with children around the world, especially in impoverished countries. I think movies like these are good because they bring this stuff into our living rooms, making us think about others and what we can do. Just like in Slumdog Millionaire, children are REALLY orphaned and living on their own in the streets, and just like in the movie Taken, children REALLY are taken, sold, and sexually exploited. The difference is that in the real world they are not going to have a super human, Jack Baur father come and rescue them, (with only the tip of one cell phone conversation, this is what made the movie great, by the way!) or they are not going to win Who Wants to be a Millionaire and pull themselves out of poverty. But this made me think about Compassion International and what good work they do around the world. They are a child relief and sponsorship organization that gives these children hope and resourses, so they can have a chance. I just wanted to give a shout out to them on my blog! They recently passed the one millionth current children sponsored mark! Here's a video that shows alittle of what they do...
